JBC study of obstacles to cross-border undergraduate education
The IBEC-CBI Joint Business Council (JBC) commissioned a study on obstacles to cross-border undergraduate education in conjunction with EURES; the European Employment Services Cross-border Partnership. The report was completed by the Centre for Cross Border Studies on 31 May 2011.
Over the last number of years, the JBC has highlighted its concern at the low numbers of undergraduates crossing the border to undertake study in higher education institutions in the other Irish jurisdiction. This report considers the current level and trends in the number of undergraduates crossing the border to pursue undergraduate education. The report also identifies a number of policy issues which represent obstacles to cross-border mobility. These include entry requirements; different fee structures; attitudinal and perception issues.
