Partnership & Network Development

The three JBC themes of people, infrastructure and innovation are complemented by a cross cutting theme of partnership and network development.

Developing the partnerships enjoyed by the JBC strengthens its work and influence under each of the focus areas.

JBC engages in the following actions:

Strengthening links with Scotland, by the extension to Scotland of a range of JBC sponsored initiatives and by including Scottish representatives in JBC deliberations where they are relevant to Scotland;
Development of an SME-focused strategy in association with the JBC’s sectoral partners. The JBC’s sectoral partners include the Construction Employers Confederation; Engineering Employers Confederation; Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association; Chambers of Commerce; Institute of Directors; Freight Transport Association; Road Haulage Association; Federation of Small Businesses; Ulster Farmers Union. Through IBEC's Business Sectors Division, JBC is linked to representative organisations for major industries in Ireland including, Food & Drink Industry Ireland, Financial Services Ireland, Irish Engineering Enterprises Federation, Information & Communications Technology (ICT Ireland), Irish Software Association, Building Materials Federation, Pharmachemical Ireland and Irish BioIndustry Association. JBC is also linked to the SME sector through the Small Firms Association which is affiliated to IBEC.
