Innovation & Entrepreneurship
This theme is concerned with innovation, technology, entrepreneurship (including social entrepreneurship) and Research and Development. The broad aims for this theme are concerned with:
- Ensuring that there is mutual collaboration to increase the level of innovation and Research and Development on the island of Ireland — which is a central plank of enterprise policy in both jurisdictions;
- Supporting all island R&D initiatives including the US-Ireland R&D Partnership and InterTradelreland’s initiatives — including the Innova programme and Expertise Ireland.com;
- Ensuring ongoing collaboration in a variety of areas that can help increase the level of entrepreneurship on the island of Ireland — including education, information sharing, case studies and joint initiatives;
- Ensuring that the business community supports social entrepreneurship initiatives and provides leadership and support to the community and voluntary sectors.
